Committees
Volunteer committees of corporate tax professionals play an important role by providing input into the development of annual operating plans and oversight to ensure that Tax 2.0 member interests are driving the overall Tax 2.0 initiative within the framework of the overall mission.
The volunteer leadership of Tax 2.0 is supported by its sponsor, Vertex Inc. Vertex supported the founding stages of the Tax 2.0 community in 2008-2011 and continues to provide financial and operational support as Tax 2.0 continues to mature.
Executive LeadershipThe Executive Steering Committee (ESC) has the following responsibilities:
- Audit privacy procedures on behalf of membership
- Provide input on Tax 2.0 initiative and program direction
- Approve and monitor operating plans
- Approve budgets and monitor financial performance Manage multi-year funding agreements
- Synthesize input/feedback from operating sub-committees
- Ensure sub-committees are adequately staffed with volunteer leadership
The ESC is comprised of six senior tax executives. The term of service is three years, with two committee members rolling on/off each year. Committee members will be expected to attend a two-day annual planning meeting in person (travel expenses will be paid by Tax 2.0), and to participate in quarterly conference calls.
In the event that a committee member cannot complete her/his term of service on the ESC, the Committee will attempt to fill the vacancy.
Sub-CommitteesThe purpose of Sub-Committees is to focus member resources around the most important aspects of Tax 2.0 community success. The original set of Sub-Committees is: Membership & Community; Tax 2.0 Product Management; Member Content Development; eMarketplace; and Live Events. More Sub-Committees may be established by the ESC as the community discovers the need.
Only corporate tax members in good standing may serve on Sub-Committees. Membership on Sub-Committees will be on a volunteer basis, and are not subject to terms of service requirements like the ESC roles. Sub-Committee membership is, however, limited to 10.
